TEACHING

Early mention of learning:

Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
{Deuteronomy 31:12}

Scripture was written for learning:

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
{Deuteronomy 6:5}

 

Jesus Christ called this the first and great commandment and added to it the phrase "with all thy mind" {Mark 12:30}.

 

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 
{Matthew 28:19}

 

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen
{Matthew 28:20}

 

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Christ had lessons to be learned by becoming man:

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
{Luke 2:46}

 

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
{Luke 2:52}

 

Although He was God's Son, and therefore God, He learned obedience through maturing and proving.

What is God's expectation of Teachers?

Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
{1 Timothy 4:16}
