"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

{John 17:17}

The Word of God is the Will of God
revealed to the Man of God

Do you believe the Holy Bible IS the Word of God, or do you believe that the Holy Bible CONTAINS the Word of God?  If you believe it only CONTAINS the Word of God, do you believe that only the original manuscripts are a reliable source for the Word of God?  Churches place this original manuscript stipulation in their statement of beliefs, yet fail to advise members that the Holy Bible they hold in their hand only contains the Word of God and is not entirely from God.

 "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
{Matthew 28:20}

Some believe that only the original manuscripts are the Word of God.  I trust those individuals are associated with churches that are perfecting the membership (i.e., the saints) in the knowledge of Greek and Hebrew!  A belief that only the original manuscripts are accurate seemingly prevents untrained people from reading God's Word, or qualifying them for any teaching ministry!

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"
{Ephesians 4:11-12}

Surely, God intended for even the common man to have the very Word of God!  How else could one follow the noble Bereans example!  God expects preachers to stand in their pulpit and preach that the Bible IS the very Word of God, and not that it CONTAINS the Word of God.  My God could and did supernaturally preserve His Word.  That's what faith is all about - trusting God to do what He said He would do.

 "For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.  Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.  And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified."
{Acts 20:29-32}

God wants His followers to read the Bible and say, "This is what God is revealing to me."  He wants that to occur without doubt or reservation.  God preserved His Word for everyone to read.  Call this the doctrine of preservation, if you like.

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever."
{1 Peter 1:23}

"Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."
 {Titus 1:9}

"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."
{2 Timothy 3:13-17}
